  • Sponsored the Hamilton High School Envirothon Showcase at Hamilton HS on March 18 presenting our students’ solutions on local climate issues
  • Supported the Hamilton HS Envirothon Team travel through a $1,000 grant
  • Co-sponsoring spectrUM climate science exhibits at Hamilton and Corvallis High Schools and Hamilton Middle School in September 2023
  • Producing eight e-newsletters to inform our membership about current issues and BCAG activities
  • Sponsoring the Chapter One/BCAG Book Club on climate science topics

Resilience & Mitigation

  • Purchased and distributed 50 portable HEPA air purifiers to seniors, young mothers and people with respiratory difficulties
  • Sponsoring the Bitterroot Resilience Forums on October 13 and 18, 2023 to engage nonprofits, agencies and businesses in planning for climate change in the Bitterroot Valley
  • Participating in the Fire in the Root meetings to bring climate issues forward in the update of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)
  • Sponsoring our volunteer Hwy 93 cleanup project in April and in October

  • Wildfire Smoke Adaptation Program – Distributing portable HEPA Air Filtration units to disadvantaged seniors, young mothers and residents with respiratory issues, cosponsored with the Fire in the Root Council
  • Bitterroot Resilience Forums Bringing together leaders in business, nonprofit and local government on October 13 and 18 to plan for our valley’s response to climate change
  • Educational Events and Programming – Supporting and promoting climate science education in our local schools and developing youth leadership on climate
